Pssst! I'm actually a human being! Listen! The first verse begins with Derulo whispering his last name into the microphone, and before hitting even the one-second mark we've been greeted by an entertainer who never misses a branding opportunity, or perhaps a man with a burning secret. Watch music video fro "Want To Want Me" (rated PG-13) And in the video, when Derulo breaks into his Usher-yoga-spasms, it's as if the music might actually be registering on his body. More specifically, the desire is to be desired. Where 2013's "The Other Side" and 2014's "Wiggle" were each as pungent and fleeting as a spritz of Axe body spray, "Want To Want Me" exudes real pheromones. The song slipped out of the top 10 recently, but it doesn't feel as perishable as Derulo summer hits of yore. The album's lead single, "Want To Want Me," is an exception. Several hits from the album will be on the setlist when Derulo performs on the Illinois State Fair Grandstand on Thursday.
